Greenland

Schedule 2012

Departure date:
End of July

Flying over Southern Greenland from East to West, you will be able to see the huge glacier which covers most of the territory of Greenland. You will land at Kangerlussuaq. Then a domestic flight will take you to Sissimuit. Main activity in Sissimuit is fishing of course! Inuit people fish along the coasts and catch Arctic chars with nets. There will be a Danish welcome team at Sissimuit airport, and right upon arrival you will be transferred to the fishing camps on a boat.

Artic CharYour fishing trip in Greenland will last 7 days and will be divided into two parts: 4 days in one place, 3 days in another place, with a one-day boat transfer from the first place to the other. Though the transfer takes a full day, the most relentless anglers among you can wait until the very last moment before they pack their rods and reels! The Fishing camps are basic in terms of comfort, but everything has been designed so that you experience the best possible stay next to the Arctic Circle! Camps are settled less than 100 meters away from the river's mouth and each tide brings the unique "show" of loads of fish swimming up the river.

Greenland is a beautiful and unique country in the world. But a fishing-trip to Greenland has to be deserved! Fishing these remote arrears can have some inconveniences; like delays in air travel - due to changing weather conditions in this region - , living in nature without much comfort - camping in tents - and helping out with daily tasks in the fishing camp.

You will be assisted and guided on site by a guide speaking French. Every fisherman should be able to organise his own fishing day, no assistance - except those having the fishing guide for that day - will be provided during this exceptional fishing trip that is organized off the beaten track!

* These dates are conditional and travel dates can be modified according to rotations of airlines (Air Greenland).
